چکیده
This receptor family comprises a group of receptors for the calcitonin/CGRP peptides. The calcitonin (CT), amylin (AMY), gene-related peptide (CGRP) and adrenomedullin (AM) (nomenclature as agreed by NC-IUPHAR Subcommittee on CGRP, AM, AMY, CT [131, 74, 71]) are generated genes CALCR (which codes receptor, CTR) CALCRL receptor-like CLR, previously known CRLR). Their function pharmacology altered in presence RAMPs (receptor activity-modifying proteins), which single TM domain proteins ca. 150 amino acids, identified three members; RAMP1, RAMP2 RAMP3. There splice variants CTR; these turn produce AMY [131], some can be potently activated CGRP. endogenous agonists peptides calcitonin, α-CGRP (formerly CGRP-I), β-CGRP CGRP-II), (occasionally called islet-amyloid polypeptide, diabetes-associated polypeptide), 2/intermedin. species differences sequences, particularly CTs. CTR-stimulating (CRSP) is another member with selectivity CTR but it not expressed humans [93]. CLR (calcitonin receptor) itself binds no ligand, gives several approved drugs that target this family, such pramlintide, erenumab, "gepant" class CGRP antagonists. also agonist pharmacology; example, displays potent activity at multiple rat mouse [58, 15]. summary table only reflects human pharmacology.

Calcitonin and calcitonin receptors Mini - review
Calcitonin (CT) is a polypeptide hormone with 32 aminoacids syntetized primarily by the thyroid. Several evidences support the existence of nonthyroidal CT like peptide. The CT gene transcript also encodes a distinct peptide known as calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) which is a potent vasodilator and responsible for the stimulation of the glomerular filtration rate. In addition, a 37 amino...
متن کاملHuman placental calcitonin receptors.
Receptors for the hypocalcaemic hormone, calcitonin (CT), have been identified in a membrane fraction prepared from term human placentae. Binding of 125I-labelled salmon CT (125I-sCT) to the membranes was time- and temperature-dependent, saturable (Bmax. 58 +/- 11 fmol/mg of protein), of high affinity (Kd 80 +/- 21 pM) and poorly reversible. Species-specific CTs and CT analogues competed for 12...
متن کاملSolubilization of functional calcitonin receptors.
Calcitonin (CT) binding activity has been extracted from a membrane fraction of human placenta using the zwitterionic detergent, 3-[(3-cholamidopropyl)dimethylammonio]-1-propanesulphonic acid (Chaps). Approximately two-thirds of the available binding sites were extracted using 5 mM-Chaps. The binding characteristics of 125I-labelled salmon CT(125I-sCT) to the solubilized extract were similar to...
متن کاملAbundant Calcitonin Receptors in Isolated Rat Osteoclasts
Calcitonin receptors have been characterized for the first time in isolated osteoclasts. These receptors have been demonstrated by autoradiographic and biochemical methods, and the cells have also been shown to respond to calcitonin with a dose-dependent increase in cyclic AMP. The receptors in rat osteoclasts are specific and of high affinity (dissociation constant, Kd, 1 to 6 X 10-10 M), and ...
متن کاملCalcitonin receptors on cultured human lymphocytes.
Established human lymphoid cell lines bound calcitonin with high affinity. Calcitonin binding was detectable on both B cell and T cell lines derived from patients with a spectrum of lymphoproliferative disorders. These cell lines had marked differences in binding capacity per cell even when adjusted for differences in surface area. The binding was linearly related to cell density and showed a c...
